Lucknow, October 29 : Over
63,000 students across all 21 campuses of City Montessori School celebrated
Diwali with joy and enthusiasm at their respective campuses today. While on one
hand, students of CMS Asharfabad Campus took out a march, strongly advocating
for a "Crackers-Free Diwali," on the other hand, CMS Station Road
Campus organized a Diwali workshop where students made beautiful diyas
spreading awareness about an eco-friendly Diwali. Alongside, various
educational and cultural activities, including quizzes, skits, dance, music,
and rangoli, also promoted the message of a crackers-free Diwali. Altogether,
more than 63,000 CMS students pledged to celebrate a Diwali without crackers
and raise awareness among children in their neighborhoods as well. The
Principals of different campuses appealed to the entire countrymen, especially
the school children, that in the interest of the country, society, environment
and for their own health and safety, they should 'say no to crackers' and
celebrate a safe Diwali spreading the light of unity and dispelling ignorance
by lighting the lamps of knowledge in every household.

Gandhi Kingdon, while
praising the 'Cracker-free Diwali' mission of CMS students, said that CMS
advocates for celebrating a clean Deepawali against a Pollution-filled Diwali
with crackers which spread sound and air pollution. She expressed happiness
that CMS students understand the impact of burning excessive crackers, which
releases various toxic gases, severely polluting the environment. City
Montessori School has been making the society aware about the need to celebrate
a Cracker-Free Diwali, it is now that we are getting much support from society
for which we are obliged.
