CMS celebrates 'International Day of Peace' with focus on interfaith harmony

Lucknow, September 21 : The ‘International Day of Peace - 21 September’, declared by the United Nations, was celebrated with great joy at the City Montessori School (CMS), Headquarters. On this occasion, leaders of various religions delivered insightful speeches, strongly proclaiming the importance of ‘religious unity, world unity and world peace.’ Prominent speakers included Rajyogni BK Radha Didi from Hinduism, Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahli and Maulana Yasub Abbas from Islam, Shri Harpal Singh Jaggi from Sikhism, Father Donald D'Souza and Rev. Pastor Firoz Masih from Christianity, Bhikkhu Gyanalok from Buddhism, Shri Shailendra Jain from Jainism and Dr. Mayuri Parikh from the Bahá'í Faith. They all enlightened the audience on the significance of peace and unity through their powerful speeches. The event began with a School Prayer, All Religion Prayer and teachings from various religions. It is noteworthy that 21 September is celebrated as ‘International Day of Peace’ to strengthen the ideals of peace and unity. This year’s International Day of Peace is being observed with the theme of 'Cultivating a Culture of Peace'.

          Welcoming the various religious leaders, CMS Founder-Director and renowned educationist, Dr. Bharti Gandhi said that peace and unity are the need of the hour. As CMS is the world's largest school by student enrollment, it is our moral responsibility to make efforts for safegaurding the future of the young generation. The bright future of the coming generations lies in an environment of peace and unity. Rajyogni BK Radha Didi, representing Hinduism, emphasized that unity in diversity is our identity. Jain representative Shri Shailendra Singh, remembering the champions of peace and unity, highlighted the significant contribution of CMS Founder Late Dr. Jagdish Gandhi. Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahli from Islam praised Dr. Jagdish Gandhi's efforts to spread the message of peace from Lucknow to the United Nations. Maulana Yasub Abbas, in his address, said that the teachings of all religious prophets are equally beneficial to all. Bhikkhu Gyanalok from Buddhism noted that the more the spirit of friendship increases, the greater the expansion of peace. Rev Pastor Feroz Masih from Christianity pointed out that the core aim of all religions is the establishment of peace. Dr. Mayuri Parikh from the Bahá'í Faith mentioned that it is essential to learn from history, as violence and war are not solutions to any problem. Several other speakers also delivered inspiring speeches, spreading the message of unity and peace.

CMS Aliganj opens Cambridge section

Lucknow, January 6 : After Gomti Nagar Campus II and Rajajipuram Campus I, City Montessori School has now opened a Cambridge section at its Aliganj Campus I, in which the students will be taught according to the Cambridge curriculum.
