Mauritius President Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun inaugurates International Conference of Chief Justices of the World

November : His Excellency Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, the President of Mauritius,
inaugurated the '23rd International Conference of Chief Justices of the World'
today at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. In his inaugural speech, the President of
Mauritius, H.E. Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun said that the initiative
taken by CMS for the better future of the present and future generation and all
humanity, is commendable. Mr Roopun quoted the Prime Minister of India, Shri
Narendra Modi's views on stopping war and promoting peaceful dialogues and
interactions among the Heads of States. He said that as Shri Modi has said that
the era of war no longer exists now and the present era needs encouragement of
more and more dialogues at every level to resolve any issues. Peace should be
established, said Mr Roopun.Ahead of it, all the former and sitting heads of
states, including justices, judges and eminent dignitaries of 57 nations led
the grand 'World Unity March', taken out by CMS students and teachers
The inaugural
function reverberated with the thoughts presented by the President, Prime
Minister and other political stalwarts of different countries. Speaking on
this occasion, Sir Rodney Errey Lawrence Williams GCMG, Governor-General,
Antigua & Barbuda commended CMS for organizing this conference and
suggested ways how to move its agenda forward. In the afternoon session,
discussions and deliberations among the Chief Justices and judges of the world
were conducted in the parallel sessions on different topics and sub-topics
including 'Creating Culture of Unity and
Peace', 'Establishing Rule of Law', 'Human Rights', 'Global Governance
Structure', 'Tackling Global Issues', and 'Sustainable Development' etcConvener
of the conference and CMS Founder, Dr Jagdish Gandhi apprised the press
personnel today, at the press conference, about the views of Chief Justices
saying that the judiciary very intently listened to the appeal made by CMS
students and they deeply pondered over the appeal.
