Inculcate in children, love for nature and conservation of environment from the beginning — Dr Mahendra Singh, Minister for Jal Shakti, UP

Lucknow, December 15 : The five-day International Geography Olympiad, ‘Geofest International-2021’ being jointly organized by City Montessori School, Jopling Road and Rajajipuram Campus II was inaugurated online today by Dr Mahendra Singh, Minister for Jal Shakti and Flood Control, UP. Addressing the audience on the occasion, Dr Mahendra Singh appealed to the teachers and parents to make the future generations aware of their responsibilities towards the environment. He further said that this society has a lot of expectations from the coming generations. Applauding the CMS initiative of organizing Geofest International, the Chief Guest expressed confidence that this event will inculcate the love for nature in students and motivate them to keep the environment clean. Earlier, CMS students presented inspirational educational-cultural programmes which mesmerized the audience. The audience applauded the colourful presentations by the students giving the message of world unity, world peace and environment conservation.

            It may be mentioned here that this International Geography Olympiad, ‘Geofest International 2021’ is being organized from 15th to 19th December wherein student delegations from Russia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Ireland, Switzerland and different parts of India are participating.  These students of different countries will showcase their knowledge and talent through participation in a variety of interesting competitions such as Geo Plea (Traditional Folk Dance), Geo Taste (Fireless cooking), Geo Toons (Cartoon making), Geo Design (3D model making), Geo Expressions (Story Telling), Geo Fashion (Dress Designing), Geo Ads (Advertisement competition), Geo Quiz (Quiz competition), Geo Rhapsody (Group Dance), Geo Dialog (Group Discussion) and Geo Documentary (Paper presentation).

      Welcoming the participants of Geofest International, CMS Founder, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that besides motivating the participants to work towards conservation of our natural resources, this event shall also inspire them to work for world unity and world peace. Speaking on the occasion, Founder-Director of CMS, Dr Bharti Gandhi also motivated the participants to give their best in various competitions. CMS President and MD, Prof Geeta Gandhi Kingdon said that solutions to global issues like environment cannot be found without the cooperation of the younger generation. She expressed confidence that this Olympiad would prove to be a milestone in providing a global outlook to the students. Convenor of Geofest International and Principal of CMS Jopling Road Campus, Mrs Shipra Upadhyay said that the enthusiasm seen in the student participants is a testimony to their commitment to the cause of environment conservation. Co-convenor of the event and Principal of CMS Rajajipuram Campus II, Mrs Anupama Checker expressed her gratitude towards the participants, their teachers and members of the jury.

CMS Aliganj opens Cambridge section

Lucknow, January 6 : After Gomti Nagar Campus II and Rajajipuram Campus I, City Montessori School has now opened a Cambridge section at its Aliganj Campus I, in which the students will be taught according to the Cambridge curriculum.
