CMS students demonstrate their sporting talent in the Annual Sports Day


 

Lucknow, November 18:  City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar extension campus organized the 'Annual Sports Day’ for its pre-primary students in a grand manner in the campus playground today. Municipal Commissioner of Lucknow, Shri Ajay Dwivedi, IAS was the Chief Guest on the occasion and inaugurated the sports day by lighting the Sports Torch. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ajay Dwivedi, IAS said that sports are not only important for children’s health but also reduce stress and develop positive spirit in children, which is the need of the present time. He appealed to the parents and teachers to pay special attention to developing qualities of sportsmanship, co-operation and teamwork in children.

            Earlier, the Sports Day commenced with school prayer and various educational-cultural programmes. The splendid march past by little ones displayed their tremendous enthusiasm. There was a tough competition for winning the maximum number of medals in various sporting events and the students displayed their talent, capability and stamina to the fullest. While on one hand the little students of Pre-Primary section showed their agility in interesting racing competitions like Bucket Race, Little Bloomers Race, Rabbit Race, Ball Race, Car Race, Glass Voter Race, Book Balancing Race, Fish Race, Hop Race; on the other hand, they also gave tough competition to each other in Three Legged Race, Lemon and Spoon Race, Frog Race, Daddy Shoe Race. Winners of various sports competitions were awarded certificates, medals and shields by the Chief Guest, Shri Ajay Dwivedi and his wife, Mrs Neelu Dwivedi.



            Addressing the audience on the occasion, CMS Founder, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that it is absolutely necessary to provide an inspiring environment to children in their early years and encourage and appreciate them on their achievements, because what children learn at this age has an impact on their whole life and develops their character. Senior Principal of CMS Gomti Nagar Extension campus, Ms Manjit Batra said that CMS gives equal importance to sports along with education. Concluding the event, Principal of CMS Gomti Nagar extension, Mrs Sangeeta Banerjee expressed her gratitude to parents for the success of Annual Sports Day.

3rd Day of 4-day International Mathematics Olympiad Matheletics 2023

  Lucknow, December 2 : The third day of the International Mathematics Olympiad organized by City Montessori School, Rajajipuram Campus II was full of exciting moments. While on the one hand students excelled in Mathematical Quiz and Puzzle Competition, on the other hand the mathematical games were keenly contested by the eager participants. Students from top public schools of Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and various states of India entered into fierce competition, each team trying to outdo the other with superior skill and knowledge.                Competitions at ‘Matheletics 2023’ began in Group C today with the Mathsketeers (Quiz) Contest. The written round was completed today in which the top ten teams were selected for the final round. The written round brought to light the hidden talents in mathematics and tested the logical and numerical ability of the participants of various countries. CMS Girls Brass Band Team wins national honour at National School Band Competition

Lucknow, February 9 : CMS Girls’ Brass Band Team of Kanpur Road Campus brought honour to the city of Lucknow by securing the 2nd prize, the Runners up Trophy at the National School Brass Band Competition. The team was awarded a cash prize of Rs 16000/-, a certificate and a trophy by the organizers. This information was given by the Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma. Mr Sharma stated that this competition was organized as part of the 75th Republic Day Celebrations. Several prestigious schools and colleges from all over the country participated in this tough competition and displayed their skills and talent in music.
