 Lucknow, September 24 : City Montessori School reached another milestone in its commitment towards Sustainable Development in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh  Bharat Mission and the UN call for Sustainable Development Goals with the launch of the Waste Management initiative 'Blue Nudge- Pathshala'  at CMS, Chowk Campus today. This is done in collaboration with Singapore's thirdlargest integrated waste management company, Blue Planet Environment Solutions Pvt. Ltd..

            High Commissioner of Republic of Singapore, H.E. Mr Simon Wong launched this programme at CMS Chowk Campus. Ms. Alice Cheng, Deputy High Commissioner of Singapore in New Delhi; Ms. Sabrina Ho, Regional Group Director (South Asia), Enterprise Singapore; Ms. Denise Tan, Regional Director (Delhi), Enterprise Singapore; Mr. Wu Po Cheng, First Secretary, High Commission of Singapore in New Delhi; Mr. Deepanshu Sharma, Assistant Information Officer, High Commission of Singapore in New Delhi, Prashant Singh - Co - Founder and Group CEO, Blue Planet Enviormental Solutions, Harsh Mehrotra Co-Founder and CEO, Blue Planet Skillsalong with CMS FounderManager, Dr. Jagdish Gandhi and CMS President, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon were present on the occasion.

        'Blue Nudge' is a unique platform that motivates students to become more responsible towards the earth. Under this Collective Responsibility  Recycling Drive, students will collect thousands of single layer and multi-layer plastic bags and tetra pouches and give them to the Blue Nudge company, a subsidiary of Blue Planet for recycling, thus preventing them from going to landfills and contributing towards negativeenvironment and climate change.

        In his address delivered on the occasion, H.E. Mr. Simon Wong commended CMS for helping its students in becoming 'Good and Smart' . He further added, the Singapore model of teaching about sustainable development to students works on the same concept as it encourages children to do their part first, rather than depending on anybody else for protecting the earth and its environment.

        On the launch, Prof. Geeta Kingdon, President and MD, CMS, said, Environmental education is an important part of CMS curriculum which aims at making its students world citizens, conscious and aware of the affairs of the world and capable of finding solutions to various global problems. We have solar panels installed at many CMS campuses to save electricity and rainwater harvesting systems have also been put up wherever possible. Every year, CMS students carry out marches to motivate the masses to celebrate cracker-free Diwali to lessen the air and noise pollution. The association with Blue Planet is another opportunity for CMS to make its students agents of profound social change."

        CMS Founder-Manager, Dr. Jagdish Gandhi said that CMS students' involvement in this programme will help them understand the importance of their efforts in saving the environment and reaffirm their commitment to work for the betterment of humanity.

        Under this initiative, Blue Planet is launching its pilot project from five districts of Uttar Pradesh where it intends to nudge one lakh families and collect two crore empty milk pouches and prevent them from going to landfills.

        Blue Planet's mission is to incorporate sustainability learning opportunities in students' daily life and make them active participants in the environment protection.

3rd Day of 4-day International Mathematics Olympiad Matheletics 2023

  Lucknow, December 2 : The third day of the International Mathematics Olympiad organized by City Montessori School, Rajajipuram Campus II was full of exciting moments. While on the one hand students excelled in Mathematical Quiz and Puzzle Competition, on the other hand the mathematical games were keenly contested by the eager participants. Students from top public schools of Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and various states of India entered into fierce competition, each team trying to outdo the other with superior skill and knowledge.                Competitions at ‘Matheletics 2023’ began in Group C today with the Mathsketeers (Quiz) Contest. The written round was completed today in which the top ten teams were selected for the final round. The written round brought to light the hidden talents in mathematics and tested the logical and numerical ability of the participants of various countries. CMS Girls Brass Band Team wins national honour at National School Band Competition

Lucknow, February 9 : CMS Girls’ Brass Band Team of Kanpur Road Campus brought honour to the city of Lucknow by securing the 2nd prize, the Runners up Trophy at the National School Brass Band Competition. The team was awarded a cash prize of Rs 16000/-, a certificate and a trophy by the organizers. This information was given by the Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma. Mr Sharma stated that this competition was organized as part of the 75th Republic Day Celebrations. Several prestigious schools and colleges from all over the country participated in this tough competition and displayed their skills and talent in music.
